This Privacy Policy explains how TelleScope (“TelleScope”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, shares, and otherwise processes personal data when you use the TelleScope Community, including tellescope.org, www.tellescope.org, api.tellescope.org, academy.tellescope.org, and related dashboards, APIs, and learning tools (together, the “Services”). By creating an account or using the Services, you acknowledge this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Who we are
TelleScope is a community platform based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We connect talent, businesses, trainers, and learners: professional profiles, job applications, company verification, training and workshops, career tools, and an academy.

2. Scope
This Policy applies to personal data we process as operator of the TelleScope Community, including:
Talent (individual) accounts and public or limited professional profiles
Business / company accounts, verification documents, jobs, and RFQs
Trainer applications and trainer profiles
Academy, training-program, skill-program, and workshop enrollments
Career tests (including guest sessions) and career-path questionnaires
CV / résumé uploads and the Check CV analysis tool
Payments, invoices, wallets, and related billing records
Support, feedback, and contact-form submissions
Visitors who browse public pages without an account
It does not control how third-party sites treat data you send them after you leave TelleScope (for example, applying to an external job on LinkedIn or Indeed, or paying for an academy course on academy.tellescope.org).
3. Personal data we collect
Account and identity
Username, first name, last name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form)
Account type (talent, company, or trainer) and role flags
Phone number, gender, age, bio, avatar or profile photo, and onboarding status
If you sign in with Google, Facebook, or Apple: the identifier, name, email, and profile picture those providers share with us
Talent profiles
Full name, country, city, job title, professional summary, years of experience, and skills
Languages, education history, work experience, portfolio or social links, and salary expectations
Résumé / CV files and profile photos
Optional contact email and phone (these may appear on public profiles — see Section 6)
Availability for work, profile visibility (public, limited, or private), verification status, and profile-completion metrics
Company profiles
Company name, trade licence number, licence source, industry, services, client types, and overview
Country, city, address, website, business email, and phone
Logo, catalogues, and legal documents (trade licence, tax certificate, registration, insurance, and similar files)
Verification status, reviewer notes, and submission workflow (draft, review, approved, or rejected)
Trainers
Application details: name, email, phone, country, city, qualifications, experience, training background, and schedule flexibility
Uploaded files: CV, academic certificates, portfolio samples, recommendation letters, profile picture, and a copy of ID or passport used for identity verification
Approved public trainer profiles (name, photo, location, bio, specialisations, and selected documents)
Jobs, applications, and business matching
Job postings you create (title, description, location, salary range, application email or URL)
Applications: cover letter, résumé file, status history, interview notes, offer details, and company notes about the applicant
Saved / bookmarked jobs
Job-view records, which may include user account, talent profile, IP address, and browser user-agent
RFQ requests, proposals, attachments, match scores, and messages between companies
Learning, tests, and career tools
Career-test answers (RIASEC ratings), session identifiers, scores, Holland code, matched careers, and personality insights — including guest sessions that are not yet linked to an account
Career-path questionnaire answers
Enrollments in training programs, skill programs, and workshops (full name, email, phone, country, and status)
Academy / LMS records synced from academy.tellescope.org, which may include name, email, username, marketing-email preference, tags, UTM parameters, billing information held by the LMS, and course progress or certificates
Payments and financial data
Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, email, and name for talent subscriptions (card numbers are handled by Stripe; we do not store full card PAN data)
Company wallet balances, escrow, tokenised payment-method display data (last four digits, expiry month/year), transaction records, and payout requests
Invoices and, where provided, banking details (bank name, account name, account number, branch code, account type)
Support, feedback, and communications
Contact-form messages (name, email, phone, account type, subject, and message)
In-app notifications
Feedback notes and categories
Support tickets, comments, attachments, and related audit history (including IP address on some ticket events)
One-time passwords (OTPs) used to verify email or reset a password
Technical and usage data
Authentication cookies (access and refresh tokens)
Locale preference, theme, sidebar state, and short-lived post-login redirect cookies
Session storage used only to pre-fill Check CV job title / description (not the CV file itself)
Server logs and cloud logs needed to operate and secure the Services
Analytics events described in Section 10
4. How we collect data
Directly from you when you register, complete a profile, apply for a job, enroll, take a test, upload files, pay, or contact us
Automatically when you use the Services (cookies, logs, job-view tracking, and analytics)
From social-login providers if you choose Google, Facebook, or Apple sign-in
From the academy LMS when we sync learner records needed to show progress and certificates in TelleScope
From Coresignal when we cache public job listings to show external opportunities (this is third-party job data, not your profile)
From Stripe when a payment or subscription event occurs
5. How we use personal data
We process personal data to operate the TelleScope Community, including to:
Create and authenticate accounts, keep you signed in, and reset passwords
Provide talent, company, and trainer profiles, and match people with jobs, programs, and businesses
Let companies review applications and let talents track application status
Verify companies and trainers (including review of trade licences and, for trainers, identity documents)
Deliver training catalogs, enrollments, workshops, and academy progress
Score career tests, generate insights, and recommend programs
Analyse CVs with AI when you use Check CV
Personalise external job suggestions using role, location, skills, and seniority derived from your talent profile
Process subscriptions and other payments, issue invoices, and maintain wallets
Send transactional email (welcome, OTP, password reset, application notices, trainer/company alerts)
Notify our team when a new talent, company, or trainer application is submitted
Provide support, investigate abuse or security incidents, and improve the Services
Comply with law, enforce our terms, and protect the rights of TelleScope and other users
We rely on one or more of the following legal bases, as applicable under UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 (PDPL) and, where relevant, GDPR or other local laws: performance of a contract with you; your consent (for example social login, optional analytics, or marketing where required); legitimate interests in running a secure professional community; and legal or regulatory obligations (including tax and accounting records).
6. Sharing inside the community
TelleScope is a community product. Some data is meant to be seen by other members, depending on your role and visibility settings.
Public talent profiles may show name, photo, location, headline, summary, skills, education, experience, portfolio links, and — if you added them — contact email and phone. Set visibility to limited or private if you do not want this exposure.
When you apply to a job, the hiring company receives your application, cover letter, and résumé, and can add internal notes about the process.
Company profiles, job posts, and public RFQs are visible to relevant community members.
Approved trainer profiles are shown in the educational community.
Workshop and program enrollments are used by TelleScope staff to administer seats; they are not published as a public directory.
TelleScope administrators can access accounts and files as needed to operate, moderate, and verify the platform.
Other community members are independent of TelleScope. Once they have received your application or viewed a public profile, they may process that data for their own hiring or business purposes. We cannot control a company’s internal copies of a résumé after they have downloaded it.
7. Artificial intelligence
Check CV extracts text from a PDF, DOCX, or TXT file (or pasted text) on our servers and sends that text, together with any target role and job description you provide, to OpenAI (model such as GPT-4o) to generate an ATS-style review. The file is processed for that request; we do not keep a separate copy of the Check CV upload in our database. If you also attach a résumé to your talent profile, that file is stored as part of your profile (see Section 13).
Career tests and career-path tools compute scores and recommendations on TelleScope systems. Guest career-test sessions are stored under a random session ID until you claim them by signing in, or until they are removed as part of routine operations.
Do not submit special-category data (health, religion, political opinions, or another person’s data) into AI tools unless it is necessary and you are comfortable with it being processed by our AI providers.
8. Payments
Talent subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We create or look up a Stripe customer using your TelleScope user ID, email, and name, and store subscription status needed to gate features. Stripe’s own privacy notice applies to card processing.
Company wallets, tokenised payment methods, transactions, payouts, and invoices are stored in TelleScope to run business billing. Banking details you enter for invoicing or payouts are used only for that purpose.
Academy course purchases completed on academy.tellescope.org are processed by the LMS / LearnWorlds checkout and its payment partners, not by the TelleScope dashboard Stripe flow.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar storage as follows:
Essential authentication: httpOnly “access” and “refresh” cookies so you stay signed in. In production these are marked Secure. Logging out deletes them.
Preferences: locale (language), theme, and dashboard sidebar open/closed state
Short-lived redirect cookies after login (for example to return you to a career tool)
Session storage for Check CV job pre-fill (cleared when the browser session ends)
Microsoft Clarity cookies / scripts for analytics (see Section 10)
You can block non-essential cookies in your browser. Essential cookies are required for accounts and dashboards to work. Google Analytics is not currently enabled on the site.
10. Analytics
We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use public and logged-in pages. Clarity may record pages viewed, clicks, scrolling, and session replays, and may set cookies. This helps us find usability issues. Clarity is provided by Microsoft and may process data outside the UAE.
We also count job views and similar product metrics in our own database to operate search, recommendations, and company analytics.
11. Service providers and other third parties
We use processors who handle data on our instructions, and other independent controllers where you interact with them directly:
Amazon Web Services — application hosting, databases (PostgreSQL), object storage for uploads (Amazon S3 in the UAE, me-central-1), secrets, and logs. Application containers and some logs currently run in AWS Africa (Cape Town, af-south-1).
Google — sign-in (profile and email), SMTP email delivery, and web fonts
Meta (Facebook) — optional Facebook login (name, email, picture)
Apple — optional Sign in with Apple
Stripe — talent subscription payments
OpenAI — Check CV analysis
Coresignal — external job listing search and cache. We send search filters derived from your talent profile (such as job title, country, city, skills, and seniority). We do not send your CV, email, or phone to Coresignal.
LearnWorlds (academy.tellescope.org) — academy accounts, courses, progress, certificates, and related billing on the LMS
Microsoft Clarity — product analytics
We may also disclose data if required by law, to protect users or TelleScope from harm or fraud, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or similar corporate event, subject to appropriate safeguards.
12. International data transfers
TelleScope is operated from the UAE. Your data may be processed in the UAE, South Africa, the United States, the European Union, and other countries where our providers operate (including OpenAI, Stripe, Google, Meta, Apple, Microsoft, Coresignal, and LearnWorlds).
Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as contractual clauses with processors, and we take steps consistent with UAE PDPL transfer rules. By using the Services from another country, you understand that your data may be transferred to and stored in these locations.
13. How long we keep data
Account, profile, enrollment, application, notification, and related records: for as long as the account is active
When you delete your account, we remove the user record and associated data we control, including profile files from storage, career-test and career-path records tied to you, and related notifications. Some rows that only referenced you may be anonymised rather than kept as a personal profile.
Uploaded files that you replace or that belong to a deleted record are removed from object storage.
Guest career-test sessions remain until claimed or removed during operations.
Payment, invoice, and tax-relevant records may be kept for the period required by applicable accounting and tax law even after an account is closed.
Stripe, the LMS, OpenAI, and similar providers keep data according to their own retention practices for the processing they perform.
Company users may still hold copies of applications they already received.
Backups and security logs are kept for a limited operational period and then overwritten.
14. Security
We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to a professional community platform, including hashed passwords, httpOnly authentication cookies, TLS in production, access-controlled administration, and deletion of files from storage when records are removed or replaced. No internet service is completely secure. Please use a strong unique password and keep your login details confidential.
Media you choose to make public (for example a profile photo or a public résumé) may be reachable via a file URL. Do not upload documents you are not willing to share with the intended audience.
Identity documents submitted with trainer applications are used for verification by our review team. Treat them as sensitive: we ask you to provide them only for that purpose.
15. Children
The TelleScope Community is intended for professionals and organisations. It is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have done so, contact info@tellescope.org and we will delete the data.
16. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under UAE PDPL, and where applicable the EU/UK GDPR, South Africa’s POPIA, or other laws, including to:
Access a copy of personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate or incomplete data (you can update most profile fields in the dashboard)
Request deletion (“erasure”), including by using Delete account in dashboard settings (password confirmation is required)
Object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent where we rely on consent
Request portability of data you provided, where that right applies
Complain to a supervisory authority (in the UAE, the UAE Data Office; in the EEA, your local data-protection authority; in South Africa, the Information Regulator)
To exercise rights that are not available in the product UI, email info@tellescope.org from the address on your account. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. We may decline or limit a request where the law allows (for example, to keep records we must retain, or data that also belongs to another user).
17. Account deletion
You can delete your account from dashboard account settings. Deletion removes your TelleScope user account and associated data we store, including talent or company profile files, OTPs, career-test sessions linked to you, and related notifications. Social-login links are removed with the account.
Deletion does not automatically cancel a Stripe subscription or an academy LMS account. Contact us if you also need those closed. It also cannot unsend an application a company has already received.
18. Marketing and notifications
We send service emails that are necessary to run your account (security codes, password reset, application and enrollment notices). The LMS may store a marketing-email preference for academy communications. You can unsubscribe from marketing messages using the link in those emails or by contacting us. We will still send transactional messages required to provide the Services.
19. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy when our Services or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change, and the new version will be posted on this page. If a change is material, we may also notify you by email or in the product. Continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
